Volume Mounting Options ------------------------ • Select the "Diagnose Disks When Mounted" option to enable the Virex® INIT to automatically diagnose disk volumes as they are mounted. If a virus or Trojan Horse is found, an alert will appear with a warning message and the virus will not be allowed to infect your machine. The infected files should be replaced with fresh copies, repaired with the Virex® INIT or repaired with the Virex® application. • When the "Diagnose Disks When Mounted" option is selected, the "Always" and "Ask First" options determine how a disk is examined. If "Always" is selected, every disk (that is of the type specified by the Check option, defined below) is automatically examined by the Virex® INIT when mounted. If "Ask First" is selected, the INIT will ask you whether you wish to Examine or Bypass each disk that is mounted. A bypassed disk is mounted without being scanned by Virex® INIT. • The "Check" pop up menu selects the type of disks that the Virex® INIT will scan. It can be set as follows: Option Meaning ------ -------- Floppies Only Internal and external floppy drives only Ejectables Any drive that is capable of ejecting its disk (such as a 'Bernouilli Box') All Volumes Any volume that is mounted • When the "Command-. (⌘.) Cancels Scan" option is selected, the Virex® INIT will stop scanning a file, folder or disk if a Command-Period (⌘.) is typed. If the option is not set, then a scan cannot be cancelled.
